Skopje, 17 September 2022 (MIA) – Gostivar mayor, Arben Taravari has been elected new acting president of the Alliance for the Albanians, party posted Saturday on Facebook. The decision was made at today's party Central Assembly. Prior to the session of the party's Central Assembly, Zijadin Sela said that his resignation as party leader does not mean withdrawal from politics. Sela said that he expects the new party leader to continue building the Alliance for the Albanians, and for the party to emerge more united and stronger. On August 21, Zijadin Sela offered irrevocable resignation as Alliance for the Albanians leader due to poor results at the municipal elections for members of the Tetovo municipal Council. In addition to the election of a new acting president of the Alliance for the Albanians, Central Assembly is set to discuss the resignation of MP Iljire Dauti from the post of coordinator of the Alliance for the Albanian’s MP group.
