Skopje, 21 October 2023 (MIA) - The law on wages is a big piece of legislation, the draft has already been forwarded to the working group but I cannot say that we already have a version that is open for discussion, said Minister of Information Society and Administration Azir Aliu on Saturday.

Minister Aliu told a press conference that the law would set up standards and accurately weigh each job position in every field.

"We have been working on the law on wages for a long time. It provides a framework for the entire payment system and we deeply believe it will solve the problem we are currently facing. At this time, counterparts working in different institutions have different wages. For example, people working in the Ministry of Finance have 30-percent higher salaries than their colleagues in the same position in other ministries. The law will set up standards and provide an accurate calculation of points for every job position in all fields. I hope we will create a payment system that will give a clear picture for administration employees and officials," said Aliu.
