Albanian FM Hasani to visit North Macedonia on Wednesday

Tirana, 15 January 2024 (MIA) – Albania's Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, is to visit North Macedonia on Wednesday as part of a three-day regional tour. 

 

"On Wednesday, Minister Hasani will be welcomed in Skopje by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani, the Speaker of the Parliament Talat Xhaferi, Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, and Deputy Prime Ministers Artan Grubi and Bojan Marichikj. Minister Hasani will also hold meetings with leaders of Albanian political parties," Hasani's office said in a press release. 

 

The tour, adds the press release, aims to further enhance substantive, deep, and concrete cooperation between the countries, as well as the further development of good neighborly relations. The visits will focus on bilateral relations, security issues, and the future of the region in the European Union.

 

Pristina will be the first stop, where Minister Hasani will be received on Tuesday by his counterpart Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz. The two will hold a press conference, followed by meetings with Kosovo's President Vjosa Osmani, the Speaker of the Parliament Glauk Konjufca, Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi, and representatives of political parties.

 

Following the visit to Skopje, Minister Hasani will meet in Podgorica on Thursday with his Montenegrin counterpart Filip Ivanović, President Jakov Milatović, Deputy Prime Minister Nik Gjeloshaj, the National Council of Albanians, and the leaders of Albanian political parties in Montenegro.
