Ahmeti tells Wahl ruling coalition has started preparations for constitutional amendments

Skopje, 6 April 2023 (MIA) – Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) leader Ali Ahmeti held Thursday a meeting with Head of the OSCE Mission to Skopje, Ambassador Kilian Wahl.

Ahmeti told Wahl that the ruling coalition has started preparations for the constitutional amendments and drafted a plan to implement them, DUI said in a press release.

Ahmeti thanked Ambassador Wahl for OSCE’s continued support to the country, and the two also discussed about North Macedonia’s OSCE Chairpersonship.

“The OSCE Chairpersonship will contribute to a new international position for the country, and the institutional capacity expected of North Macedonia will be indirectly manifested as a NATO member and EU membership candidate. Wahl and Ahmeti also discussed ongoing reforms in the country, the screening process and the need for constitutional amendments as an inevitable need for the country to continue its European integration process,” reads the press release.

In addition, Ahmeti and Wahl discussed about the deal reached between Kosovo and Serbia in Ohrid, as a unique opportunity for peace and prosperity in the Balkans and beyond. dk/nn/
