Ademi: NAI considers Sunday’s elections free, fair, democratic

Tetovo, 19 October 2025 (MIA) – The deputy leader of DUI, Arber Ademi, told a press conference Sunday held after polls closed in the country’s local elections, that the DUI-led coalition National Alliance for Integration (NAI) considers the elections to be free, fair, and democratic.

“A very important part of the democratic process has been completed, but an equally important phase begins now, the phase of counting, administrating, and safeguarding the integrity of the vote. That is why we call on every member of the election commission, every observer, and every relevant institution to maintain the highest European standards so that the final result reflects the true will of the citizens and the reality of their free and democratic expression,” Ademi said.

Ademi said the coalition has only a few remarks about the electoral process, which will be addressed to the relevant institutions.

“Above all, the winners today are the citizens. Those who believe in democracy, participation, and European values, because trust can only be built through a free vote, and the future can only be built through participation. Today’s vote is the one that determines the future of this country, it is our political and national roadmap. The only way forward for North Macedonia is the European path, the path of democracy, equality, and the complete integration of all its citizens,” Ademi told journalists in DUI’s HQ in Tetovo.
