Gostivar, 4 December 2023 (MIA) – Alliance for Albanians (AA) leader Arben Taravari confirmed Monday that he will participate in the leaders’ meeting scheduled for today. Asked about the positions and demands he will outline at the meeting, Taravari told MIA that the proposed date for joint elections is acceptable for the AA.
“For AA, April or the beginning of May are acceptable dates for the parliamentary elections and the second round of presidential elections. I expect this to be agreed at today’s meeting,” said Arben Taravari, noting that he is set to depart to Skopje for the meeting.
Regarding a potential scrapping of the careteker government, Taravari said now is not the time for that. He stressed that such an issue should have been discussed a year ago, and not now when the elections are near.
Taravari reiterated that AA plans to run independently, with its own candidates, at the next elections, but, he said, “the final decision is set to be made by the [party’s] Central Assembly in the coming days”.
