Skopje, 8 May 2024 (MIA) - The ODIHR Election Observation Mission has more than 300 observers deployed at polling stations across the country to monitor the process of the presidential runoff and parliamentary elections.
Jillian Stirk, who heads the ODIHR Election Observation Mission, after visiting a polling station Skopje (Centar) at the elementary school “Johan Hajnrih Pestaloci” stated that conclusions will be announced once they receive the results from their observers deployed across the country and that international election observation mission is assessing the elections in line with the international commitments and domestic legislation.
“The polling station where we are standing this morning is of course just one among many in the country. We will be looking at other results as they come in from across the country and then drawing our conclusions based on the observations that are provided by our many observers,” Stirk stated.
She underlined that they will provide the preliminary statement tomorrow at 3 pm at the Aleksandar Palace.
Stirk said that together with her team they have been in Skopje since the 20th of March, and they also have long-term observers who have been based around the country in nine different locations following all aspects of the preparations for these elections.
