‘Worth It’ coalition presents list principals in all six electoral districts

Skopje, 18 April 2024 (MIA) - The “Worth It” coalition of opposition parties of ethnic Albanians presented Thursday in Skopje the list principals in all six electoral districts ahead of the parliamentary elections on May 8.

Izet Mexhiti will be the coalition’s list principal in the first electoral district; Afrim Gashi in the second; Shener Bilalli in the third; Mendurim Zekmani in the fourth; Salim Suleimani in the fifth; and Bilall Kasami will be the list principal in the sixth electoral district.

The presidential candidate of the “Worth It” coalition, Arben Taravari, a press conference Thursday said the complete unity of the opposition parties of ethnic Albanians at the elections will guarantee a victory.

“The presidential elections are held on Wednesday on April 26, number 6 is the number of changes that are worth it. Wherever we go on the campaign trail, and we’ve been all over the country, we see that poverty, price hikes, unemployment or low wages are the biggest issues. The living conditions have gotten worse. This leads to another great issue that we have – youth emigration. Young people are leaving the country because wages are low and good work is hard to find. The economy and emigration require a response, and the Albanians require changes,” Taravari said.

The coalition’s list principal in the first electoral district and leader of Democratic Movement, Izet Mexhiti, stressed that the victory of their coalition will bring about changes in society, especially for the Albanians.

Mexhiti stressed that one of the economic measures they will implement if they win at the parliamentary elections would be to return state enterprises to the hands of the citizens.

“All citizens in North Macedonia will be issued 49 percent of the shares in state enterprises, i.e., each individual will be issued shares worth EUR 10.000. It will be possible to sell these shares on the market, they will inject a new economic dynamic in all families, and enable private capital to enter these enterprises, which leads to modernization and development,” Mexhiti said.
