‘Kolska’ factory management team dismissed over poor performance

‘Kolska’ factory management team dismissed over poor performance
Skopje, 13 October 2022 (MIA) – The Government at its session on Thursday decided to dismiss the manager and the members of the Supervisory Board of the Veles-based ‘Kolska’ factory for rail cars.    Thursday’s session concluded that the management of the factory showed negative financial results in the operation despite the fact that this enterprise has been granted financial support by the Government, reads an official press release.   Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski told a press conference at the Government earlier on Thursday that he has called for dismissal of the factory’s director and management team due to poor performance.   “The Government in the past period has allocated Mden 35 million to this public enterprise. Financial resources are exhausted, workers don’t receive wages. When we saw the reports on whether the debt was reduced over the past period, whether the production and the service provided has increased, whether the costs were reduced, we saw that this was not the case. And that's why I proposed to the Government that the director and the entire management team, the supervisory and management board be dismissed immediately,” said Kovachevski.   The employees of the factory staged Thursday a protest in front of the Government demanding payment of overdue wages and resolving the issue of the factory’s blocked account. On Wednesday, they blocked road and rail traffic at the railway station in Veles for two hours. The account of "Kolska" is blocked due to an outstanding debt of about EUR 650,000 incurred in the period 2013 – 2017.
