"Mytilineos - Cogeneration Plant Skopje" gets status of strategic investment project
Skopje, 10 October 2022 (MIA) – The Government decided on Monday to give status of a strategic investment project to the "Mytilineos - Cogeneration Plant Skopje" project of the company for production of electricity and heating energy "Mytilineos" DOOEL - Skopje. The value of the investment is expected to be EUR 211 million and it is to consist of an electricity plant with a power of 90-105 MW and heating energy of 135-150 MW.
The annual production of electricity is expected to be around 1,150 GWh and about 275 GWh of heating energy, to be delivered to the respective energy systems - MEPSO and the heating energy transfer system of the City of Skopje, the Government said in a press release.
“The decision was made following a public call by the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, on January 31, 2022, to submit a request for setting a status of a strategic investment project and after an appropriate consideration by the Commission for Strategic Investment Projects. The decision adopted is in the direction of the Government's commitment to create conditions for increasing the domestic production of electricity and heating energy,” reads the press release.
