New York, 25 September 2024 (dpa/MIA) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed extreme scepticism about negotiations with Russia to end the ongoing war between the two neighbours.
Russia is "committing an international crime," Zelensky told the UN Security Council in New York.
"That's why this war can't simply fade away. That's why this war can't be calmed by talks," Zelensky said. "Action is needed."
"From the very first second of this war, Russia has been doing things that cannot possibly be justified under the UN Charter," the Ukrainian leader said.
Russian President Vladimir "Putin has broken so many international norms and rules that he won't stop on his own, Russia can only be forced into peace, and that is exactly what's needed," Zelensky continued.
