Skopje, 13 June 2024 (MIA) — Hristina Zafirovska's "Cycle 19 II" solo exhibition of abstract works inspired by the coronavirus pandemic will open at Kichevo's Kocho Racin Cultural Center on Thursday evening.
According to organizers, Zafirovska's latest artworks, mixing pop art and 2D shapes, depict how people's lives have changed since the outbreak of the pandemic.
"The series, on the one hand, interprets the biological process, the circular construction of the virus, its creation, growth, expansion and transmission," organizers say, adding that the works also depict a process of physical and mental renewal after isolation.
Hristina Zafirovska (b. 1983, Skopje) is a formally trained painter and graphic designer. She holds a bachelor's degree in Painting and Graphic Design from the state university's Faculty of Fine Arts and a master's degree in Graphic Design from the Faculty of Design and Multimedia.
Her art projects have focused on subjects ranging from creation, interpersonal relations, women's rights to isolation. She has exhibited her works in Germany, France, Bulgaria, Turkey, New York, USA, and in various cities in North Macedonia.
The "Cycle 19 II" project was made possible by the support of the Ministry of Culture. mr/
