Zaev-Tiganj: Reaffirmation of Croatia’s strong support to North Macedonia’s Euro-integration
Skopje, 14 July 2021 (MIA) – Croatia’s strong support to North Macedonia’s European integration was reaffirmed at a meeting between Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Croatian Ambassador Nives Tiganj on Wednesday. PM Zaev and Ambassador Tiganj agreed that North Macedonia has met requirements on the EU accession path and now it is up to the European Union to deliver on its promise, the Government said in a press release. “North Macedonia implemented the necessary reforms. It is also a model of coexistence of various communities in one state, also a European value. We continue to invest in constructive policies and expect they will result in a step forward in the Euro-integration process,” said PM Zaev. Zaev and Tiganj agreed on the importance of enlargement policies, noting it is in the interest of the Union and the candidate-states to complete the EU with the Western Balkans, which naturally belongs to Europe. Interlocutors also discussed the enhancement of economic cooperation, but also in the fields of defense and other areas, reads the press release.
