Skopje, 13 October 2021 (MIA) – Our political opponent will win in six municipalities and get six mayors, whereas the SDSM-led coalition will have at least 22 mayors in the first election round, i.e. 3.5 times more. This is a time of modern, European municipalities, of a developed, European country, he stressed. “We listen to the voice of the citizens,” he continued. “These are times of cheerful people, of trees and parks, safe boulevards and streets, children’s smiles in modern preschools, motivated students in modern schools, these are times of authentic urban culture and European municipalities.” Commenting on Gazi Baba municipality, he spoke of all implemented projects and announced a number of new projects including a new building for the Krste Petkov Misirkov school, reconstruction of cultural centers, new preschools, etc., and urged citizens to vote in large numbers in the October 17 local elections. SDSM’s incumbent mayor who seeks reelection to Gazi Baba municipality, Boris Georgievski, told Wednesday’s rally in Avtokomanda that things are changing rapidly in every settlement in the municipality, adding that they have the best program for the next four years that brings benefits for all. He stressed that they will continue implementing 400 new projects in every settlement in Gazi Baba. “Despite the blockades by VMRO-DPMNE, we’ve implemented over 200 projects, and the East Gate Mall is now a reality, which will bring new 2,500 jobs,” Georgievski said, urging the citizens to also vote for the list of councilors, so that the projects within the program can be fully implemented. Incumbent Skopje mayor who seeks reelection, Petre Shilegov, and the holder of SDSM’s list of councilors for Gazi Baba, Aleksandar Sasha Dimitrievikj, also addressed the rally. On Wednesday, the SDSM-led coalition also held rallies in the municipalities of Chucher Sandevo and Butel.
