Skopje, 11 January 2022 (MIA) – It is with great sorrow that I received the news of the death of European Parliament President David Sassoli. As a great supporter of the European idea, our strong friendship in sharing the highest European values was what connected us, says PM Zoran Zaev. Zaev says in a Facebook post that Sassoli put great effort into fulfilling the promises to start the negotiation process for North Macedonia. "He was a great friend of North Macedonia and its people, putting effort to ensure that the EU fulfills its promises to start negotiations with our country. May he rest in peace,” adds Zaev.
