Zaev: Normal to take bold decisions when not calculating with political career
Kriva Palanka, 12 October 2021 (MIA) – Half a billion euros of capital investment in green energy. The Whirlpools wind park will be the largest capacity in renewable energy sources in North Macedonia and the largest wind park in the Western Balkans. This is a historic investment for Palanka and the region. This means that young people will stay here to work, and the municipal budget of Kriva Palanka will get more funds. This is the green agenda – a system towards renewable energy sources, for greater electricity production, SDSM leader and Prime Minister Zoran Zaev told a rally in Kriva Palanka as part of the party’s The Best for My Municipality campaign for the October 17 local elections.
“This is what we mean when we say the best – the best for Kriva Palanka, the best for our homeland,” Zaev added.
We focused on investments in road and communal infrastructure, he continued, because it is the engine of economic development, it is visible especially in this region, here in Kriva Palanka and this region.
He pointed out that in the past four years, in the northeastern region alone, over EUR 700 million have been invested in the railway communal infrastructure and other projects.
“These are real, capital investments that not only improve the quality of life, but also open ample opportunities for local economic growth. In this part of our country alone, if we take into account the road and railway infrastructure, we have projects that are worth over EUR 700 million. These are huge funds that until a few years ago were just part of the imagination for this region,” Zaev stressed.
SDSM and the government, he noted, in the past four years achieved significant success both at home and internationally.
“We brought the country back on the right track, we strengthened the Macedonian language, we joined NATO, today we’re a country recognized by the whole world. We restored freedom and democracy at home, we opened the institutions, we built capital investments that improve the life of the people,” said Zaev.
And while we’re bringing historic investments, while we’re positively transforming each municipality, and providing more money to the citizens, VMRO-DPMNE and Mickoski, Zaev said, are wondering if this is normal.
It’s normal to take bold decisions, he continued, when not calculating with your political career.
The SDSM leader pointed out that mayoral candidate Sashko Mitovski and the holder of the list of councilors Izabela Pavlovska are the best for Kriva Palanka because success at local level continues with them.
SDSM’s candidate for mayor of Kriva Palanka Sashko Mitovski announced some of the projects that SDSM and the coalition offer to support young people.
“Young people have potential and we’ll give them chance for real progress and self-growth. They will contribute to the development of society. The development program of Kriva Palanka for the four-year term includes Mden 120,000 grants for innovators of, subsidies for young unemployed people and students to use sports facilities, youth budget, subsidies for purchasing digital devices for all students. I believe in young people, in their strong support for the best,” said Mitovski.
He stressed that the gasification of Kriva Palanka is a priority, contributing to less pollution and higher environmental standards, development of the market and the economy. According to him, in addition to this crucial project, the program for Kriva Palanka includes construction of a modern tourist and recreation center.
Earlier on Tuesday, the SDSM-led coalition also held rallies in the municipalities of Kratovo and Rankovce.
