Skopje, 25 January 2024 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi said Thursday that he not only expects a fair, democratic and successful election process, but it is a duty to make it a reality.

"It is our duty to ensure a fair, democratic and successful election process. This is a challenge by itself, first for me as an office-holder, and taking into account the experience of the communication with representatives that will be part of the caretaker government, it is clear to all of us that this is our duty to the citizens. I believe that we can make it happen, through a census with stakeholders," Xhaferi said in an interview for the Parliament's TV channel.

He stressed the moral, political and ethnic responsibility towards citizens to ensure a proper image before international institutions that will monitor the elections.

"It is our moral, political and ethnic responsibility, and ultimately a responsibility to our citizens and state, to ensure a proper image before the international institutions that will monitor the elections. In fact, our duty is to provide international organizations and institutions adequate insight into the process, in cooperation with the State Election Commission.
