Worth It coalition: No confidence motion against Gashi "pointless"

Skopje, 1 September 2024 (MIA) – Worth It coalition’s coordination political body gives unreserved support to Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi ahead of Tuesday’s no confidence vote in Parliament.
They call the initiative “pointless political experiment and a destabilization attempt.”
“The no confidence motion is a direct attack on state institutions and the Euro-Atlantic integration process of the country. The motion, filed by the anti-NATO party Levica, with open support from SDSM and a concealed one from DUI, is in fact a test of a wider opposition coalition to the detriment of the strategic interests,” the coalition says in a press release Sunday.
The coordination body at today’s meeting also discussed the remarks by the Constitutional Court President involving the languages law and the “balancer” tool, calling the initiative to assess the legitimacy of the languages law as dangerous and unacceptable.
“If the initiative is accepted, it will open Pandora’s box for all key accomplishments of the country, including the changing of the constitutional name, made possible without the signature of then president Gjorge Ivanov, which paved the way for NATO membership. Such act would threaten the stability and sovereignty of the Republic of North Macedonia, seriously threatening its Euro-Atlantic orientation,” said Worth It coalition pledging it will defend the integrity of the state institutions and the interests of the citizens in North Macedonia.
