Berlin, 29 February 2024 (dpa/MIA) — World Cup champions Spain continued their successful run and claimed the inaugural women's Nations League title with a 2-0 win against France on Wednesday.
Spain dominated the match from start to finish, while France managed to create only a couple of half-chances.
FIFA women's player of 2023 Aitana Bonmatí broke the deadlock in the 32nd minute with a powerful side-footed finish and Mariona Caldentey wrapped up matters in the 53rd.
Germany and the Netherlands play the match for third place later on Wednesday. The winner will also take the remaining European berth at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Spain and hosts France are already qualified.
