Women's EHF Euro 2022: N. Macedonia eliminated after third defeat
Skopje, 9 November 2022 (MIA) - The Macedonian national women's handball team was defeated 31-23 (13-12) by Romania at a match played in Skopje. With three defeats in Group C, the national team is eliminated from the 2022 European Women's Handball Championship.
Following the two matches against France and the Netherlands, in which the Macedonian team was inferior score-wise since the start, the team coached by Ljubomir Saveski started the game fully motivated to face Romania.
The Macedonian handball players had their best halftime at the European tournament against Romania, however in the second half, the Romanian players routinely maintained their advantage.
By winning the game, Romania placed third in Group C qualifying in the second stage of the European tournament alongside France and the Netherlands.
