We have enough flour, price hasn't changed, Delchevo importers say
Delchevo, 1 March 2022 (MIA) — Despite flour flying off the supermarket shelves due to the Russia–Ukraine war, Delchevo has enough supply of flour to meet the frenzied demand, one of the largest regional flour-importing companies told MIA’s Delchevo correspondent. According to Manov DOO, flour prices haven’t gone up and there was no shortage of flour. “Being a serious company, we inform consumers that we have sufficient quantities of flour of all types,” they say, dismissing rumors of price hikes. Local grocery stores confirm that people are buying more flour than usual, but they say they are well supplied and don’t expect any shortages in the next two weeks. Citizens who are stocking up say they are doing so because they feel uncertain about the regional security situation. “If what is happening in Ukraine continues, the wheat may remain unharvested. If the ‘bear’ dances toward the Balkans... This won’t be over soon,” said Drago Ristovski, a Delchevo resident. mr/
