Brussels, 25 June 2024 (MIA) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Tuesday that the European Union has formally launched accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova. 

"Congratulations to Moldova and Ukraine on opening accession negotiations. This is very good news for the people of Ukraine, Moldova, and the entire European Union. The path ahead will be challenging but full of opportunities," von der Leyen posted on X.

EU members last week agreed on the negotiating frameworks for Ukraine and Moldova.
