VMRO-DPMNE’s Mickoski: There must be criminal and political accountability after Tetovo hospital fire
Skopje, 20 September 2021 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski in Monday’s TV debate with Prime Minister and SDSM leader Zoran Zaev demanded criminal and political accountability in addition to moral responsibility involving the deadly fire that burned down a modular hospital in Tetovo, killing 14 COVID-19 patients. He claimed that the modular hospital was put into service without adequate paperwork, saying in resulted in 14 people losing their lives. The first thing that needs to be done, Mickoski said, is the resignations of the health minister, his deputy and the Tetovo hospital’s directors to be accepted. “You should not only accept the resignations of Minister [Venko] Filipche and his deputy, but you should also consider resigning,” Mickoski told Zaev at the TV debate hosted by Kanal 5. According to him, 14 lives were lost due to “the incapability of those responsible and the weaknesses of the system, which is being mismanaged.” The opposition leader accused Zaev and the government of “being directly to blame” for the deadly incident. “I’m only telling the truth,” Mickoski said when PM Zaev told him he was talking nonsense.
