VMRO-DPMNE to introduce new doctrine, new candidates at top posts after party congress
Skopje, 9 December 2021 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE has announced it will introduce a new doctrine and appoint new members to top party posts after the December 12 congress of the opposition party to elect new leader.
Party sources has said that the current leader Hristijan Mickoski at the Sunday congress will announce new appointments in the party’s top bodies in line with VMRO-DPMNE’s new policies.
The new doctrine, called by VMRO-DPMNE “the new guiding light of the party in the coming period” will be discussed at the congress. Unofficially, it will note that “VMRO-DPMNE’s main goal at the moment is to restore hopes that the citizens can live comfortably at home, in the Republic of Macedonia.”
Unofficially, the doctrine will read that “any attempt to open discussion, bilaterally or multilaterally, about identity issues and characteristics of the Macedonian people, automatically disputes the Macedonian uniqueness. VMRO-DPMNE will keep fighting for justice and respect of the Macedonian people and state in international relations.”
Speaking off the record, VMRO-DPMNE sources said the party will not sign or support any possible deal made with Bulgaria, which crosses over the red lines in the negotiations, defined in the 2021 resolution adopted in Parliament.
Party sources also said VMRO-DPMNE “firmly believes that quick snap election is the only way out of the crisis.”
As to whether the opposition party will back the 2022 budget, the sources said that VMRO-DPMNE MPs “are present in Parliament when the budget is discussed”, however, “VMRO-DPMNE believes that it doesn’t correspond to the needs of the citizens as an adequate response to the crisis.”
VMRO-DPMNE will hold the congress on December 12 in Skopje, where 500 delegates will elect a new leader. So far, the only candidate running for the post is Hristijan Mickoski, who is seeking re-election.
The congress will be organized with the Covid protocols in place and attendees will be required to show a proof of vaccination or negative test.
