"We didn't notice any person wearing masks this morning; it has never been like this," said Kochoveski, adding that restaurants will work without playing music.

Culture Minister Bisera Kostadinovska Stojchevska stated that she does not know Vevchani in such circumstances and expressed regret and condolences to the family of the young boy.

"I, unfortunately, know what that pain feels like. The whole situation is uncertain. Whatever the citizens of Vevchani decide to happen today will happen. Next year, the tradition will continue. I hope there will be no more such unfortunate events," stated Minister Kostadinovska Stojchevska.

The Ohrid Police reported that a nineteen-year-old young man with initials M.M. died in a traffic accident last night around 1:20 am on a local road between Vevchani and the village of Podgorci.
