Hiroshima, Japan, 21 May 2023 (dpa/MIA) - US President Joe Biden announced another package of military equipment for Ukraine during the summit of the seven leading industrialized democracies (G7) in Hiroshima, Japan, after bilateral talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Biden did not initially state the scope of the aid, saying only that the package includes ammunition, artillery and armoured vehicles.
The United States is seen as Ukraine's most important ally in the fight against the Russian invasion and has provided substantial quantities of military aid in recent months.
The talks between Biden and Zelensky, on the sidelines of the G7 summit, came after the Ukrainian president paid an unexpected visit to the meeting, appearing in person after extensive speculation about whether or not he would attend.
