University Surgery Clinic receives new, sophisticated medical equipment
- New medical equipment worth EUR 1.1 million, procured with the support of the World Bank, was put into use Wednesday at the University Surgery Clinic “St. Naum Ohridski”.
Skopje, 8 February 2023 (MIA) – New medical equipment worth EUR 1.1 million, procured with the support of the World Bank, was put into use Wednesday at the University Surgery Clinic “St. Naum Ohridski”.
Minister of Health, Bekim Sali, expressed hope that the equipment will last for a very long time.
“Today we are putting into use one new computed tomography scanner, two mobile x-ray machines and a digital x-ray machine. I wish the employees of the clinic good health and successful operations with the new equipment which will enable early and timely diagnosis. This is modern, sophisticated, digital equipment which I hope will serve us in the coming years without any issues,” said the Minister.
The director of the clinic, Dr. Ljuben Arsenkov, expressed his gratitude for the donation and said that the donated equipment will be of great importance in enabling more efficient and adequate treatments of patients.
The Minister informed that the donation from the Ministry, with the support of the World Bank, covers 14 public health institutions.
“The donation covers five clinics and three clinical hospitals in Tetovo, Shtip and Bitola, several general hospitals in the country and one specialized hospital – the hospital for cardiovascular interventions in Ohrid,” said Sali.
As part of the donation, a new computed tomography scanner was put into use Wednesday at the University Clinic for Neurology as well, enabling early diagnosis of neurological issues. ad/nn/
