UNICEF representative on World Children's Day: Children deserve quality and inclusive education
Skopje, 21 November 2022 (MIA) - UNICEF Representative to North Macedonia Patricia DiGiovanni in her speech Monday marking World Children's Day said every child has the right to equal access to quality education, calling for discrimination to be eliminated. World Children's Day in Skopje was marked under the motto "We're all one team when it comes to children's rights", organized by UNICEF and the Football Federation of Macedonia (FFM). Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and FFM head Deni Masev were also in attendance. Since World Children's Day this year falls on the same day of the opening of the World Cup in Qatar, she said, it creates a unique opportunity to use the power of football for the whole world to unite and to use it as a reminder that "there can only be one team when it comes to children's rights." FFM head Masev stressed that "we're all one team" as regards children's rights because every child deserves to feel safe, protected and heard. UNICEF and FFM organized the “kids take over” football match to bring attention to issues important to children – equal opportunities, quality education, healthy environment, and mental health for every child.
