Ukraine reports third night of heavy Russian attacks

Kiev, 26 May 2025 (dpa/MIA) - Russia launched a wave of overnight attacks on Ukraine using large swarms of combat drones, Ukrainian authorities reported early on Monday.
The air force warned on Telegram of new cruise missile attacks by Russia. An air alert covered the entire country.
Air defence systems were deployed in many places, with numerous explosions reported, authorities said.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
According to the air force, Russian drones attacked the port city of Odessa from the Black Sea.
In the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, military governor Oleh Syniehubov said on Telegram that a series of powerful explosions were heard.
Russia intensified its attacks on Ukraine over the weekend, launching hundreds of drones each night. On Sunday, at least 12 people were killed and dozens injured.
In response, Ukraine launched hundreds of combat drones towards Moscow, disrupting air traffic.
