Kiev, 13 April 2025 (dpa/MIA) - At least 21 people were killed in a Russian missile strike on the north-eastern Ukrainian city of Sumy, Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said on Sunday.
The strike also left many injured - some in the street, others in cars, on public transport and inside residential buildings, Klymenko wrote on Telegram.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had described the attack as leaving "dozens dead and injured." Photos from the scene showed burning vehicles and widespread destruction.
Sumy, located near the Russian border, has been repeatedly targeted since the beginning of the war. Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia's full-scale invasion for more than three years.
