Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck string quintet to perform at Ohrid's St. Sophia

Ohrid, 16 July 2025 (MIA) – The Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra's string quintet from Innsbruck, Austria, will give a concert at St. Sophia church in Ohrid at 9 pm, performing works by Friedrich Gulda, Ljupcho Trajkovski Fis and Antonín Dvořák.
The concert program features Gulda's String quartet in F-sharp minor; Ljupco Trajkovski Fis's String quintet "Memories of a street"; and Dvořák's String quintet nr. 2 in G major op.77.
The string quintet consists of Susanne Merth-Tomasi (violin), Dragan Trajkovski (double bass), Adrej Jablokov (violin), Eleonora De Poi (viola) and Leonardo Sessena (violoncello).
Merth-Tomasi, from Innsbruck, joined the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck in 1998 as principal first violin, and in recent seasons has repeatedly filled the position of 3rd concertmaster on an interim basis.
Trajkovski, an Austrian with Macedonian roots, has been the principal double bass of the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck for 15 years.
Jablokov, who comes from Bratislava, has been playing in the second violin section since 2012.
De Poi has played in orchestras such as the Teatro Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the Teatro La Fenice, and the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.
Sesenna has been a member of the Orchestra of La Scala in Milan and Associate Principal Cellist of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
The concert is part of this year's Ohrid Summer festival's programming. mr/
