Skopje, 29 March 2024 (MIA) – A public prosecutor has ordered two people, detained as part of an investigation into the murder of a doctor in Skopje’s Zelezara settlement, to be put in a 48-hour house arrest.
The measure has been requested since evidence is still being collected as part of the investigation, said the Skopje Public Prosecutor’s Office on Friday.
Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski told media on Thursday that three people have been detained in connection with the murder. “Based on my information, one more individual has been detained, so there are a total of three people detained. The search was carried out late in the evening, and other activities in the investigation are continuing in order to identify what happened, once we have additional information we will inform the public,” Toshkovski said.
Based on initial findings, the motive for the murder is not connected to the profession of the victim, he noted.
A Skopje doctor, 67, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in his vehicle last week. He was found by his sons who started looking for him after he did not return home from work.
