Two Macedonian nationals arrive from Marrakesh to Madrid after devastating Morocco quake
- Two Macedonian nationals, who were evacuated in a camp in Marrakesh following the devastating earthquake that struck the Al Haouz province of Morocco, arrived in Madrid and are in a good condition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Monday.
Skopje, 11 September 2023 (MIA) – Two Macedonian nationals, who were evacuated in a camp in Marrakesh following the devastating earthquake that struck the Al Haouz province of Morocco, arrived in Madrid and are in a good condition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a press release on Monday.
They are expected to return home very soon.
Concerning the devastating earthquake that struck Morocco, according to the engagement of the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in Cairo, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that no other our nationals were reported to be present in Marrakesh over the past two days.
In the press release, the MFA said the Macedonian diplomatic mission in Cairo is communicating with the relevant institutions in Morocco over the possible presence of Macedonian nationals in the affected regions and needs for evacuation.
The Ministry urged all citizens of North Macedonia who are currently present in Morocco and need consular assistance, to phone the 24/7 line of the Embassy in Cairo at +20 103 361 5542, and the SOS line at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs +389 75 273 732.
