Skopje, 3 October 2024 (MIA) -- The 12th Giffoni Macedonia Youth Film Festival begins Thursday and will offer six days of films, workshops, interviews, and forums through Oct. 8, organizers said.
Events and screenings will take place at Skopje's Millenium movie theater, the MKC Youth Cultural Center, and the Cinematheque.
The festival will welcome over 450 participants from eight countries. It will open with a free screening of Italian filmmaker Claudio Bisio's "The Last Time We Were Kids" (2023) at Millenium at 7 pm.
Fifteen feature films by European directors and some 40 shorts and animated films from filmmakers worldwide have made the official selection. They are competing in several categories, depending on the participants' ages.
Giffoni Macedonia has also organized eight creative workshops, which will be run by film directors, artists, and musicians.
In addition, Edu Cuts Talks will be held every day between 3:45 pm and 5 pm, as part of the Edu Cuts platform for young talents supported by the British Council within the "Culture and Creativity for the Western Balkans" project, funded by the European Union.
Winners in all categories will be announced at the awards ceremony at the closing of the festival at Millenium on Oct. 8 at 7:30 pm. mr/
