Turkish company “Teknopanel” to invest EUR 20 million in new plant, open 120 jobs
Skopje, 18 November 2022 (MIA) – Turkish high-tech company “Teknopanel” will invest EUR 20 million and open 120 jobs in a new production facility for sandwich panels in technological-industrial development zone (TIDZ) Skopje 1.
Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, TIDZ Directorate CEO Jovan Despotovski and Teknopanel owner Orhan Kahveci signed the investment agreement on Friday.
This is the first facility of the company outside of Turkey, which exports are expected to exceed EUR 170 million over a period of 10 years.
“Today is an important day because a new investment is entering the country. The Government has ensured benefits for investments. North Macedonia is a NATO member, launched the EU accession negotiations and that is why we are a stable partner of foreign investors,” said PM Kovachevski in the remarks prior to the agreement signing.
According to him, production in the new “Teknopanel” plant will begin next year, with average salaries of employees at EUR 600.
DTIDZ CEO Despotovski said “Teknopanel” would not stop on the initial EUR 20-million investment, since talks on enlargement of the facilities would start in the coming months.
“Teknopanel” is one of Turkey’s largest exporters, with four plants already operating in Mersin, Izmir, Sakarya and Istanbul.
