Trenchevska reassures preschools will have heating, says gov’t responsibly manages energy crisis
Skopje, 27 September 2022 (MIA) – Neither parents nor municipalities need be afraid that preschools will be left without heating. Heating will be available both for the citizens and for the preschools, because the government is responsible, we take care of the citizens and manage the energy crisis, said Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska.   In response to a reporter’s question at Tuesday’s meeting between the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy and the National Council for Gender Equality, Trenchevska stressed that preschools and all other institutions will have heating, adding that preschools are not included in the business electricity rates, and therefore don’t face soaring bills, and a large part of them are energy efficient, thus save electricity.   “In addition to block subsidies for wages, paid by the Ministry, we transfer funds for material costs. However, preschools have their own funds, such as the additional fees paid by parents for accommodating children in preschools, so the responsibility for paying utilities, including electricity bills, is the responsibility of the municipalities,” the Minister added.
