Trenchevska: Ministry creates policies and solutions focused on citizens’ needs
Skopje, 18 July 2022 (MIA) – Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska met Monday with the Deputy Ambassador and Head of the Economic Department at the German Embassy in Skopje Otto Graf to discuss numerous topics in the ministry's jurisdiction. The Ministry said one of the topics of conversation was the legislation that declares Sunday to be a rest day for all, except those whose activities cannot be interrupted due to technical or technological reasons, as well as other exceptions mentioned in the legislation. Trenchevska said the legislation allows certain departments to work if their activity is of vital importance for the functioning of the company, while emphasizing that work on Sunday must be reported to the State Labor Inspectorate. Another topic of conversation was the social inclusion of people with disabilities on the labor market. “The Government and the Ministry strive for greater inclusion of people with disabilities on the labor market. The Ministry is drafting legislation aimed at improving the rights of people with disabilities in regards to their employment. The adoption of this legislation will be preceded by an open public discussion with all concerned entities, in order to create a common solution which will answer the needs of society,” said Trenchevska. Trenchevska also summed up all measures undertaken by the Government aimed at supporting the vulnerable groups of citizens and companies affected by the crisis. She informed that the budget revision allocates more funds for measures that will ease the economic and energy crisis especially for the coming winter, which is expected to be particularly difficult. Both parties expressed conviction that the well-established cooperation between the two countries will continue., reads the press release.
