Trenchevska – Dible: Cooperation with USAID continues in the direction to building prosperous and inclusive society
Skopje, 3 November 2022 (MIA) - Minister of Labour and Social Policy Jovanka Trenchevska met Thursday with the USAID Country Representative for the Republic of North Macedonia Jeri Dible and discussed topics related to economic growth, employment, young people, the inclusion of Roma in society, social entrepreneurship, volunteering, opportunities for regulating freelancers, reducing corruption.
The meeting was focused on future cooperation and the continuation of the common vision that is linked by the 30-year partnership.
Minister Trenchevska referred to youth and economic growth that will be the priority of the Government in 2023. She also spoke about the social protection system that socially disadvantaged individuals, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy said in a press release.
“The goal of the 2019 reforms is the activation of the recipients of the guaranteed minimum assistance in the labor market. Therefore, through the development of individual plans for the recipients of the guaranteed minimum assistance by the centers for social work and the Employment Agency, through trainings, additional qualifications, requalification, the most employable member of the family is activated, thereby contributing to removing the family from poverty,” Trenchevska said.
The interlocutors also discussed the freelancers and the possibility of regulating their work, whereat Minister Trenchevska said that a solution is being worked on, following the example of neighbouring Serbia, to simplify the process of registration and deregistration of these professions which have not been regulated so far.
Regarding the inclusion of the Roma, Trenchevska said that 40 percent of the recipients of the guaranteed minimum assistance are Roma, and together with the civil society organizations working in this area intensive work is being done on programs and measures that improve their status and position in the society.
They voiced confidence in the continuation of cooperation and work on building the common vision for a prosperous, democratic and inclusive society.
