Skopje, 3 August 2023 (MIA) - On August 1, the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia opened the "120 years Ilinden Uprising-archive memory" exhibition which was a part of the "Ten Days Krushevo Republic" event in front of the Makedonium in Krushevo, commemorating 120 years since the Ilinden epic.

The exhibition contained over 300 archived documents and photographs that were displayed across 20 exhibition panels. The documents were part of the archival funds kept at the State Archives, and were taken from the archives in Istanbul, Sofia and Belgrade, the State Archives announced in a press release on Thursday.

"I am glad that once again the State Archives attended the "Ten Days Krushevo Republic" event. This exhibition shows: the creation of the Macedonian revolutionary organization, the swearing-in ceremonies, the Organization's discipline and solidarity, its structure, known revolutionaries, preparations for the Uprising, its course and key battles with the Turkish armies. Several panels show events following the Uprising, consequences and effects, as well as the consular reports and publications by international media outlets," State Archives' acting director Emil Krsteski said at the exhibition opening.

The large number of visitors has the opportunity to meet the authors and learn about historical facts. ssh/sk/
