Transport Minister Nikoloski meets EBRD's Türkmenoğlu

Skopje, 17 July 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksandar Nikoloski and Railway Infrastructure public enterprise director Sinisha Ivanovski met Wednesday with head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) country office Fatih Türkmenoğlu, discussing the dynamics of capital projects in the country implemented with EBRDs’s support.

Minister Nikolovski discussed the envisaged projects in the new Government program, with focus on investments in road, railway, and gas pipeline infrastructure, the Ministry of Transport and Communications said in a press release.

Nikoloski noted that the Government will enhance its investment activities, in order to accelerate the country's economic development. He also expressed satisfaction with EBRD's decade-long support for Macedonia and hope that such cooperation with continue in the future.

The Minister stressed that EBRD is "our strong supporter in the realization of capital projects."

"We have a strong program, many infrastructure projects, both at a central and local level, and I hope that we will find common interest in their implementation with EBRD and other international lenders. Our goal is quality infrastructure and satisfied citizens, as defined in the Government program," Nikoloski said. ssh/ik/
