Skopje, 18 February 2026 (MIA) — Wet roads are reported nationwide with no delays at border crossings.

With water levels rising in the Vardar River, people traveling between Gostivar and the villages of Chegrane and Forino are warned the on R2-233 regional road has been closed since Tuesday night due to flooding. A detour is available at Staro Chajle to Forino.

A fallen tree has blocked the road from the village of Stancha to the village of German.

Light snow around Kriva Palanka, Deve Bair, Delchevo, Stracin and Ponikva has not caused any traffic disruptions.

Trucks and buses are banned on the roads between Popova Shapka and Tetovo, Mavrovo and Debar and at Strazha; cars are required to have chains or snow tires.

As of Nov. 15, 2025, winter equipment in vehicles is mandatory until Mar. 15, 2026.

Landslides are possible along the routes of Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo and Kochani – Delchevo.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully, adjust their speed to weather conditions and follow traffic rules, signs and signals.
