Skopje, 31 July 2025 (MIA) - Partly wet roads are reported nationwide, with increased traffic outside urban areas.
The Auto-Moto Association of Macedonia (AMSM) said the Strumica-Berovo regional road is completely closed due to a traffic accident late Wednesday.
According to the AMSM, traffic is increased due to the summer holidays but no major delays are reported at border crossings.
As of July 1, heavy vehicles exceeding 15 tons are subject to restrictions on all state roads during weekends and extremely hot days through August 31 to mitigate summer traffic congestion.
In addition, a ban on heavy vehicles exceeding 7.5 tons is in place during weekends and holidays on the A2 highway section between Skopje and Ohrid through September 1.
Landslides are possible along the routes of Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo and Kochani – Delchevo.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully, adjust their speed to weather conditions and follow traffic rules, signs and signals.
