Skopje, 24 December 2024 (MIA) - Wet and slushy roads are reported nationwide with moderate traffic outside urban areas and no delays at border crossings.
Heavy vehicles are banned at several road sections, including Debar-Mavrovo, Kichevo-Gostivar, Strazha mountain pass and Tetovo-Popova Shapka.
As of Tuesday morning, a ban on heavy vehicles is also in place at the Barabaros mountain pass due to snowfall.
Fog reduces visibility from 100 to 150 meters on the Stracin-Kumanovo road.
The Auto-Motto Association of Macedonia (AMSM) notes that as of Nov. 15, 2024, winter equipment in vehicles is mandatory until Mar. 15, 2025.
Landslides are possible along the routes of Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo and Kochani – Delchevo.
Motorists are advised to drive carefully, adjust their speed to weather conditions and follow traffic rules, signs and signals.
