Toshkovski - Miljanić: EU membership a common priority

Skopje, 9 October 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski met Wednesday with the newly appointed Ambassador of Montenegro, Zoran Miljanić.
Interlocutors concurred that the cooperation between the two ministries is at an extremely high level with a mutual interest in deepening it in the fight against organized crime, illegal migration, human trafficking and drug smuggling, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.
"Participants in the meeting agreed that illegal migration is a challenge for the security of the two countries, and a jointly expressed readiness can contribute to even better migration management and border protection through more intensive cooperation within regional initiatives," reads the press release.
Interlocutors reaffirmed that the two friendly countries have a common priority - European Union membership, noting that achieving this strategic goal will be facilitated through the exchange of experience and good practices, as well as strengthening regional ties of friendship and cooperation, the press release adds.
