Skopje, 21 March 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Interior Panche Toshkovski said Friday the investigation in the Kochani nightclub fire would be enlarged if evidence is found over the involvement of other individuals.

"This number will go up if new evidence is found regarding individuals having direct or indirect involvement in the event," Minister Toshkovski told reporters.

Asked if the statement by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who said that Kochani Mayor Ljupcho Papazov resigned out of moral responsibility, is an attempt to justify people close to the ruling party, Toshkovski said the actions were undertaken considering the evidence available.

"Absolutely not, and you can see this through our actions. We have taken specific steps in accordance with the concrete evidence," said Toshkovski.
