Skopje, 3 January 2025 (MIA) — Police have recovered the bodies of three women and searching for the driver of the car who went missing after an Audi crashed into the Vardar River near the village of Rashche on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Crisis Management Center and the Ministry of Interior, the accident was reported to the Skopje Police Department on Thursday at 4 pm.

At 6 pm, passersby brought a four-year-old child to the St. Naum Ohridski General Hospital. The child was then taken to the Skopje Clinical Center and is said to be in stable condition.

Special police retrieved the vehicle and the bodies of the three women trapped in the sinking car from the Vardar River at 9:05 pm.

According to relatives, a man was driving the Audi and he most likely fell out of the car when it plunged into the river from the local road to Rashche. mr/
