Skopje, 12 June 2025 (MIA) - Thirteen people, including police chiefs and officers who were on duty the night the deadly fire at the “Pulse” nightclub broke out, have been detained in Kochani and Shtip, according to media reports late on Thursday.
The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption said an operation is underway led by a prosecutor from the specialized department for police officers. More details are expected on Friday.
According to media reports, those detained include T.D. (chief of crime police), D.P. (shift supervisor on the night of the fire), M.M. (chief of the Kochani police department), K.J. (chief of economic crime at the Kochani police station), and M.R. (a police officer who was on duty the night of the accident).
The March 16 fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kochani claimed 62 lives and left nearly 200 injured.
