Tasevski holds meeting at EU Delegation in Skopje after latest M-NAV developments

Skopje, 5 January 2024 (MIA) - Trade Union of Air Traffic Controllers leader Aleksandar Tasevski held a meeting on Friday at the Delegation of the European Union in Skopje following the latest developments at the national air navigation service provider M-NAV.

Tasevski told reporters after the meeting that the EU Delegation and the embassies are closely following all developments and are up-to-date with the whole situation.

"They were up-to-date with the whole situation. They understood our demands for professionalism. We were definitely met with understanding from institutions that function the way we want to function. They gave us support for all the actions available to us. It's unfortunate that this has resonated everywhere," said Tasevski.

He pointed out that all unions from Europe with which they cooperate have been notified, adding that a visit of unions' representatives to the country is being organized as a sign of support.

He noted that the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations has also been notified.

"This goes beyond the borders of our country because it is obvious that if we stay within our country, we do not get the necessary support in terms of what needs to be done to be a professional air traffic control," Tasevski said.

He reiterated the demands of the union, noting that airspace will be closed as of January 10 unless the demands are met.
