Skopje, 27 September 2023 (MIA) — The National Opera and Ballet and Tanec National Folk Song and Dance Ensemble will give a concert titled 'Folklore Classical Symbiosis,' performing together for the first time in recent years.

Tanec dancers will be accompanied by the Tanec orchestra and choir as well s the National Opera and Ballet orchestra and choir.

With more than 130 participants on stage, the concert will include symphonic performances of Macedonian folk melodies and dances such as "Osogovka," "Maleshevka," "Harvester," "Pirin Spring Flowers," and "Vodarki".

Bisera Chadlovska is the conductor, the concert-master is Verica Lambevska, and the choir-master is Gjurgjica Dashikj.

According to the National Opera and Ballet in a press release, the concert fuses classical and folk music into new scores, arranged by instrumentalist and Tanec orchestra head Darko Ilievski.

The 'Folklore Classical Symbiosis' concert is "another complex work with a highly artistic expression, which safeguards and promotes Macedonian music," the release adds. mr/
