Buenos Aires, 9 February 2025 (dpa/MIA) - A strong earthquake rocked the Caribbean Sea south-west of the Cayman Islands on Saturday.
The earthquake was measured at a magnitude of 7.6 and occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
The quake's epicentre was located about 200 kilometres south-southwest of George Town in the Cayman Islands, USGS said.
It issued tsunami advisories for Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, which were later cancelled.
There were initially no reports of casualties or damage.
